Therapy for Anxiety

It feels like all you do is worry.

Every day, you wake up - and anxiety is there to greet you. “Seriously? This already?” you’re thinking to yourself. You go about your day, and worries keeps popping up. Did I do this wrong? Did I make them mad? What if I can’t figure it out?

You try reassuring yourself. You try asking the people around you to comfort you. You stop doing the things that scare you - but the anxiety is ever present.

You’re ready to stop the worry spiral - to be able to actually live your life and experience it fully.

You don’t have to face this alone.

There’s nothing wrong with you, and you’re not crazy - you’re human. Life is tough these days - and we’re all struggling in our own ways. There’s a lot of pressure on your shoulders, and you deserve to let it fall away.

Our team of experienced therapists is here to provide you with the tools and support you need to navigate through the rough waters of anxiety. We understand that seeking help can feel intimidating, but rest assured, we're here to create a safe and judgment-free space for you to explore your challenges.

In your sessions at Metamorphosis, we believe you are the expert in your own life. Your therapist will work with you, focusing on understanding your unique experiences and developing personalized strategies to manage anxiety effectively. We'll work together to identify triggers, explore underlying factors contributing to your anxiety, and develop coping skills to help you regain a sense of calm and control. We know that reaching out for help can be scary - so we focus on building the foundation of trust first.

When you see an anxiety therapist from Metamorphosis Counseling, you’ll notice the difference.

  • You will be able to get back to doing things that you love - and actually love doing them

  • You’ll gain clarity on the ways that your mind intrudes with worry, and how to stop letting it rule your life

  • You’ll understand how avoiding anxiety actually creates more anxiety

  • You’ll stop running from the things that scare you

  • You’ll learn better coping strategies for when anxiety pops up, so that you can live life even in the face of your worry

Therapy with Metamorphosis is right there in our name - a journey of self-discovery, evolution, and growth. It's about empowering you to confront your fears, build resilience in the face of uncertainty, and put yourself back in the captain’s chair. While the process may be challenging at times, our goal is to support you every step of the way and celebrate your progress along the journey.

We believe in the power of action-oriented therapy, which means we'll equip you with practical tools and exercises to practice between sessions. These may be clear skills, such as mindfulness practices, increasing your awareness of your own patterns, or simple shifts to your day-to-day, such as prioritizing steps towards a personal goal.

No matter what, every step of your therapy journey is in your hands - you are in the driver’s seat, with your therapist thoughtfully guiding you from the passenger side.

Ultimately, our mission is to help you cultivate a greater sense of well-being and live a more fulfilling life, free from the grip of anxiety. You deserve to feel empowered and in control of your mental health, and we're here to help you achieve that.

One of the key principles of our approach is collaboration. We believe in working together as a team - you, your therapist, and any other relevant professionals or support networks in your life. By fostering open communication and collaboration, we can create a holistic treatment plan that addresses your unique needs and goals.

Our therapists are not only highly trained professionals but also compassionate individuals who genuinely care about your well-being. We understand that every journey is unique, and we're here to provide personalized support that honors your individuality and respects your autonomy.

At Metamorphosis Counseling,  we're dedicated to creating a warm, welcoming environment where you feel seen, heard, and valued. Our therapy rooms are designed to be comfortable and inviting, free from judgment or stigma. We’ve taken steps to ensure that our offices feel homey, not clinical - like you’re sitting down in your friend’s living room, not a doctor’s office.

You’re ready to take the first step towards a brighter tomorrow. Together, let's embark on a journey towards healing, growth, and reclaiming your peace of mind. Reach out here to get started on your unique metamorphosis!

What kind of therapist do you talk to about anxiety?

Talk to us! (We’re a little biased). Seriously though, while most therapists can help with anxiety, we believe that therapists who are understanding, nonjudgmental, and able to help you make peace with your anxiety do the best job. You’ll find that Metamorphosis therapists won’t ever tell you that something is “wrong with you”, or that you’re “being irrational” - anxiety is a normal human emotion, and treating it like “the problem” only makes it worse.

How do I get therapy for anxiety?

We make getting therapy super simple and customized to your needs. We know that finding a great fitting therapist can be exhausting - so let us do it for you! We do all the hard work of therapist matching so that you don’t have to - click here and reach out to us today!

Is it worth seeing a therapist for anxiety? Should I go to therapy if I have anxiety?

If you’re finding that your anxiety is getting in the way of your life, too hard to handle, or harming your relationships - you should go to therapy. A trained therapist can help you understand your anxiety response better, learn skills to manage it, and help you get back to doing what’s important, without interference from anxiety.

How long does therapy for anxiety take?

Therapy for anxiety often can be done on a short-term basis over just a few months. However, there are several factors that determine that - for example, how ready you are to make change, how willing you are to dive into your mental health (even when it gets hard),  attending your sessions regularly, and how open you are with your therapist, just to name a few.

Clients who attend therapy regularly (usually weekly or biweekly to start), practice their skills outside of session, and keep their therapy work in mind throughout the time between sessions often show the best and fastest outcomes.

Can telehealth help with anxiety?

Yes! Telehealth treatment (AKA virtual therapy, teletherapy, virtual visits) is every bit as effective as in-person therapy (Bulkes et al, 2022) and often more convenient (don’t have to leave your house, take a ton of time off of work, or worry about transportation to and from appointments). When you have anxiety, it can feel overwhelming to drive to a new place and meet a new person. With telehealth, you can be in your own space and focus solely on getting to know your therapist.

We at Metamorphosis know how hard it is to live life in today’s world. The constant “once-in-a-lifetime” historical events, inflation making it seemingly impossible to live comfortably, walking on political eggshells with your family - we could go on and on. Of course you’re worried - life is crazy!

We want to help you find a way to navigate your crazy world, without needless worry. To know what’s within your control and what isn’t - so you aren’t worrying about stuff that you ultimately can’t do anything about. To have skills in your back pocket to unhook from worry when it comes up, so you can get back to what’s really important in life.
